It has 4-rows of 19 holes, and is, therefore, the later variation of the Winchester Trench Gun Heat Shield that was introduced in 1941 or 1942.Winchester simply milled the (3) grooves on the bottom of the barrel for the bayonet/heat shield mounting screws, and fitted the barrel up for mounting the heat shield.
